I’m Anita, a lifelong crocheter, pattern designer, and teacher with a deep love for turning yarn into something magical—and helping others do the same. Over the years, I’ve built a thriving crochet business that brings in consistent income doing something I truly enjoy. And now, I’m here to help you do it too.

How it started

A few years ago, I was staring down nearly $100,000 in student loan debt between my husband and me, holding a newborn in my arms, running after a toddler, and trying to figure out how to make life work on one income. I had always imagined I’d “do everything right”—go to school, get the degrees, work hard, and eventually, things would fall into place. But instead, I found myself asking “How did we get here?”

I knew that I wanted to stay at home and raise my kids but I also wanted to help pay off our mountain of student loan debt.  I needed a way to earn income without sacrificing time with my family. And I needed to figure it out fast.

That was the moment everything changed.

I had always loved to crochet. It was my creative outlet—something to do with my hands during nap time or after bedtime. But when I shared my projects online, people started asking to buy them. Others wanted the patterns. And suddenly, what had been a side hobby started to look a whole lot like a business. I didn’t have all the answers, but I had motivation, a family I wanted to spend time with, and a why that pushed me to keep going.

Bit by bit, I built something real. I opened an Etsy shop. I started designing patterns. I showed up on social media. I learned how to market my work, price it fairly, and grow a brand that felt like me. It wasn’t an overnight success, but it was steady and purposeful. Slowly, my crochet income started chipping away at our debt—and replacing the salary I once thought I had to give up on.

Today, my crochet business brings in consistent income, allows me to work from home, and gives me the flexibility I dreamed of when I first became a mom. I'm here for my husband and my kids.  I get to go on date nights, family vacations, field trips, class parties, and every little league game.  Building my own business has given me freedom. The chance to build a life around what matters most. And now, I want to help others do the same.

Why I Do It

I created the Crochet Business Course— a step-by-step program that show you how to turn your hobby into real income streams. Whether you want to sell finished pieces, create patterns, or grow an audience, the business course gives you the tools to do it sustainably—without burning out or guessing your way through. It’s everything I wish I had when I started, bundled into one clear, supportive path.

I believe creativity is valuable. I believe anyone can build a life and career that they are happy to wake up to every day.  I believe we weren’t meant to trade all our time for someone else’s dream. And I believe in building businesses with heart—ones that support your life instead of consuming it. This isn’t about flashy wins or going viral overnight. It’s about building something real—slowly, intentionally, and on your terms.
